    Underrated or Forgotten Pitchers

The other thread got me thinking about pitchers:

    Rick Reuschel.

Good lord- Top 100 WAR player all time. #65th ranked pitcher, all-time.

Played for awful Cubs and Pirates teams.

Remember 1987 when the ball couldn't stay in the yard, except off of Resuchel, and everyone was trying to get this 38 year old junker? The Giants finally landed him and he had a pretty good run with them.

    Loved that guy. Big Daddy.

Gotta be some more-help me out.

    Frank Tanana

    Dennis Martinez

Both won in excess of 240 games but basically got little notoriety playing for the Angels and Expos respectively.

Brandon Webb. Such a shame injuries ended his career by age 30.

Ben Sheets was a guy who I always really liked even though he played for a division rival. 2004 when he threw 237 innings with a 2.70 ERA in 34 starts showed what he was capable of, but sadly he could never stay healthy.

Matt Morris was awfully effective during the height of the steriod era from 1997-2003. After that...well...he ate some innings.

Billy Pierce has a great career line and doesn't seem to get much recognition for it.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

    Tommy John 1972-1980.

(Wish we could unearth a modern replica of this ground ball and double play machine for the next 8 years at GABP)

Is VP gonna mention Javier Vazquez or should I do it for her?
