Hey now, Captain America might disagree with you on that.

And Dick Williams (Rogers' manager during the time he was with the Expos) hated Rogers. He felt like he couldn't pitch well under pressure.

    Dennis Leonard

    John Candelaria

I'll also add a couple of relievers who have the following in common:

    1) Both were acquired by the Reds via trade.

    2) Both were traded away before ever throwing a pitch at the MLB level for the Reds.

    3) The players that the Reds received in return for both then-minor league relievers -- Dave Collins and Bill Bonham -- both played a major role with the 1979 NL West champs.

For most people who don't participate on this board, Mario Soto probably qualifies.

Jose Rijo, as well, even though the memories of Rijo in his prime/pre injury are no doubt fresher on the mind -- Reds fan or not.

I feel like Mussina never got the credit he deserved until he went to New York, and that's just unfortunate. He was a heck of a pitcher.
How do we know he's not Mel Torme?

Always hoped he'd get to 300 W just so he got more notoriety in history.
