Bronson on the mound. Hanigan will always catch him if available.

Yeah, it's not like this team needs offense or anything.

Are you saying that Mesoraco should never take a day off?

Let's see how Dusty handles this moving ahead. Mes has developed some rapport with these pitchers over the last few months being the main guy, maybe enough so that Baker allows him to start more than sit like in the past.

As stated Arroyo is going to get Hannigan, but lets see what tomorrow brings.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Cincinnati Bengals - None
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

I'm guessing Hannigan catches Arroyo and probably Bailey. I hope Mes continues to get the other 3.

No, he has two; they're just not together.

fwiw, with Bronson pitching, yeah, Hanigan will start. I do hope Mes gets the majority of playing time from here on out, though.

Corky got hurt at just the right time. His injury will make him several thousand more the next few weeks than he would have made otherwise, as today would have been outright assignment No. 3,576 of his career with the Reds.

With Corky going to the DL, IIRC I think the 40 man is full and someone will have to be removed for Ludwick to come off from the 60 day DL or they could move Cueto to the 60 man DL and make it retroactive.

Edit: I am wrong. Ludwick will make it 40 even counting Cueto. No need to make a move. I am guessing Miller is on the DL until 9/1 with a rehab stint in AAA for the last 10 days of August.

I wonder if it helps his pension too.....

That's a good question, but it appears it won't (yet).

He began the year with 4 years and 9 days of service. The pension is divided into classes with each full year of service beginning a new class. So if/when those extra 14-20 days gets him to 5 years, it most certainly would help.

It looks like Miller has been outrighted seven different times in his career (presumably heading for No. 8). I wonder aloud what the record for most outright assignments by a major league player is.

    Re: Hannigan activated

I'm fine with Hanigan being Bronson's personal catcher since he's gone after this year most likely, but Homer really needs to learn how to pitch to Mes.
