Votto is having as good a year offensively as he's having a bad year defensively. Facts are fun.

How is Votto not charged with an error since the runners advanced? Really it should be his error only on the whole play, but I guess you have to give 1 to Hannahan.

One year later? Did anyone doubt his effort last season?

Since you brought it up ... I've got to admit I've been thinking the same thing. Keep in mind the knock on Votto used to be he was subpar defensively at 1B. I'm talking when he first came up from the minors. Joey then worked his ass off to become a good defensive first basemen. There were stories about him working for hours on infield practice.

You don't hear those stories anymore. Doesn't mean it's not happening, but I serious wonder if it is. Is Joey putting the same work in defensively as he used to? I don't know. If I had to guess based on the results, I would say no.

It's also pretty hard to take anyone's advice.

    Choo stole a base!

Was anyone else saying "No, no, no ... I mean YES!"

Just so used to seeing him thrown out when stealing.

Managing $160M can take up a lot of one's time.

Glass half-full: Cozart WAS trying to go the other way and advance the runner.

Glass half-empty: He missed the ball by 10 inches.

Did you just quote Puff Daddy?

    "Mo Money, Mo Problems."

    And worse defense.

    Votto robbed.

Why couldn't he get an RBI? - Marty

Wanted to make sure he didn't hit into the DP.

Welp, this game is starting out to have the feel of "one of those nights."

Great play by the 2B there.
Rounding third and heading for home...
