"Baseball players are smarter than football players. How often do you see a baseball team penalized for too many men on the field?" ~ Jim Bouton
Cubs with an early 1-0 lead on St. Louis.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
She looks fine and all, but Jeeze her voice is annoying... And she made me miss a pitch.
3 pitches, 2 outs for Cingrani.
Ball beat him. Bur I thought he was safe.
Defense certainly didn't do Tony any favors in the first inning...but the Padres are hitting the ball like they're swinging sticks of dynamite. Ball is exploding off their bats.
I think he can. He's having a better year for a first-year AAA player than most are giving him credit for. That's a tough transition for most young players and he's only 22. He's still having a solid year. I don't ever expect him to be a perennial All-Star, but I think he's going to help the Reds win a lot of games over the next several years.
And yes, I think he will be a September callup.
Cingrani works pretty much as beautiful of an inning as you can.
Quick 1-2-3-- definitely needed that after last inning.
