    He now has 2 BB/22 K in 20.2 IP with Bakersfield.

    Pensacola's bullpen gave up 5 runs in the 9th, and now play in the 10th tied at 6-6.

    That is about as cold, merciless, and efficient as a pitcher can be. Let him finish up at that rate and he's thrown a complete game shutout with three base runners, fourteen strikeouts, and about 100 pitches.

    And he was equally as effortless in charming a large crowd of autograph and photograph hunters after the game. A great day to be a Reds fan in San Jose!

    Star of the game for the home fans however was Juan Duran. He was today's "beer batter" - half price beer if he strikes out. He came through three times in a row - barely enough time to drink your two-for-the-price-of-one Sierra Nevada's before the next ones came around!

    You better have a lot of beer ready if you're gonna make Juan Duran the designated beer batter. Robert Stephenson and half price Sierra Nevadas...that is quite an evening. I'm jealous.
