An ugly but much needed win. It would have been tough to swallow losing two of three to the Padres again. The two "goats" from Saturday night showed a lot of fortitude by coming back and getting big hits in this game. That's what being a professional is all about. Putting the bad games behind you and going out and doing your job the next day.

Well, not sure on that, since Broxton had a pitch clocked at 97. I'm pretty sure he's not hitting 100 these days.

For some reason....I'm having a hard time seeing that one.

I don't know if AC is tweaked or not but Dusty's explanation probably wasn't valid and I don't really see the drop in velocity that would freak someone out.
Personally, I just thought his spike stuck in the dirt and he just tweeked his ankle a bit. He immediately looked down at it and walked around a bit. Grimaced initially too. Much ado about nothing IMO.

I was at the game, and with the exception of one pitch at 99, everything he was throwing was in the low 90s or high 80s.

He also threw a pitch that was clocked at 82. Unless he decided to throw a pitch I've never seen him throw before, I think something was goofy with the radar gun.

Gameday had it listed as him throwing changeups. I know he DOES have a changeup...maybe he WAS throwing one.

And he just decided to randomly start throwing it in August? I'm not saying it's not possible, but it's not very likely.
