I know what "could" happen, but I suspect a good, non-first-pitch swing by Votto will land him in kangaroo court.

FWIW, Ian Kennedy has pretty much owned the Reds in his brief career.

Yeah Brandon has been pretty much the same player he always has been. Luckier with men on base but unlucky with no one on. His bb rate and k rate are all pretty much at career norms. Hits not falling in with no one on and everything was with RISP.

When Votto and Bruce don't produce this offense is just awful. Catcher, Short, Third, Left are just not playoff quality. Choo is slumping, Phillips has slumped for a couple months. It's amazing this team is in playoff contention. Thank God for the pitching staff.

    2. Hannahan is probably having the worst year of his career, I doubt Walt planned on that happening.

    3. Walt upgrades CF and you still complain, seems like a lose-lose situation for him.

    4. There were no good bats on the market. If you payed any attention at all to the trade deadline you would know that it was extremely hard to make a trade because no one wanted to sell. It takes two teams to make a trade happen.
    1. 1000's of posts have addressed logical solutions to this.

    2. Hanahan is having the exact year I expected from him based on age projection.

    3. Choo was not an upgrade in Center. He's an upgrade in Left and an upgrade to the top of the order. Either sign only Choo, only Ludwick, or Ludwick to be the 4th Outfielder.

    4. There's always a way to make a trade happen. Most players are available at the right price. There were three Cubs available (not Soriano) who would have helped greatly and cost little.

    5. $2.5M more would have been available had Rick Sweet been Manager instead of Dusty.

    6. For the record, I have yet to see a poster on this site who has supported Walt and the two previous G. M.'s as much or as well as I have, so you're suggestion that all things that happen will only generate a complaint from me is nothing but empty banter.

Triple for Cedeno. Just out of the reach of Choo. Nice effort but not a great jump.

Just checked box score and saw Leake has our only hit of the day. Guess I haven't missed much.

It's kinda ironic that you keep talking about how the Reds defense has helped Leake so much, in a game where half the runs Leake has given up are due to bad defense.
