Attended 1976 World Series in my Mother's Womb. Attended 1990 World Series Game 2 as a 13 year old. Want to take my son to a a World Series Game in Cincinnati in my lifetime.
Come on Mike. Throw strikes!
1. Where in the budget were the Reds supposed to upgrade SS, 3B, and LF? Every team has to rely on young players. The Cards have kids like Carpenter, Martinez, Miller, and Lynn who have come up big for them this year, our young guys haven't performed as well but there is no way of knowing which young guys are going to come through in the bigs. And having failed miserably on what they should have accomplished up to this point. Walt has to know his Manager better than this, 1. has to know that Frazier and Cozart would have asophomore slumps, 2. has to know Hanahan and Izturis are not worthy of being bench players FOR A CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM, 3. has to know you can't have a Championship team with the worst Defensive Centerfielder in the Majors by a country mile getting over 90% of the innings there, 4. has to know that doing nothing after Ludwick went down is not a solution, doing nothing for the next four+ months to improve the RH hitting, the CF defense, and the overall bench talent is not a solution, and that Dusty Baker does not get the most out of his players.
2. Hannahan is probably having the worst year of his career, I doubt Walt planned on that happening.
3. Walt upgrades CF and you still complain, seems like a lose-lose situation for him.
4. There were no good bats on the market. If you payed any attention at all to the trade deadline you would know that it was extremely hard to make a trade because no one wanted to sell. It takes two teams to make a trade happen.

Ok, Leake kinda sucks today.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
Crap. BB to the pitcher to load the bases.

is it possible the problem isn't Baker or the guys at the end of the lineup, or the guys on the bench, as disappointing as they've been. is it possible the problem is that the stars in this lineup are just not getting the job done?

Why is everything up? Let's go Leake, get that ball down!
I'll take it.
Score some runs!

Leake gets out of a bases loaded jam.
Leake is battling. A pitch like the called third strike in the PA against Venable can help a defense.

Helluva pitch there when he needed it the most.
Let's get some runs.
Rounding third and heading for home...
