Who do we root for this week, Cards or Pirates?

I'm rooting for the Cards. The Pirates are in 1st and I think you always root for the 1st place team to lose. I don't like the Cards, but Im hoping for a Cards sweep this week. Although if the Buccos sweep the Cards then we could move into the #1 wildcard slot!

On the macro level, I am still more worried about the Cardinals winning the division than the Pirates, so gun to my head I hope the Cardinals lose rather than the Pirates. Not knocking the Pirates, I just expect the Cardinals to pick up those 3 games by the end of the year.

I think I'll root for two 20 inning games and one rainout that messes up both teams' schedules.

Whatever puts us closer to first place.

I 100% do not care as for the "sake" of the Reds. I would like to see the Pirates make the playoffs as it's been so long.

Re: Who do we root for this week, Cards or Pirates?

Firstly I'm rooting for a cataclysmic explosion of vegetable oil to rain down on the Pirates and Cardinals.

Then I'm rooting for any comedy of errors that allows the Cardinals to beat the Pirates without me having to actually be happy about their victories.

Re: Who do we root for this week, Cards or Pirates?

I would like to root for the Cardinals, since I don't see them winning the division. I think their biggest concern is not getting caught by Arizona. Molina was a big loss, but more importantly, their pitching is performing as expected, and their "clutch" hitters have stopped being "clutch." I think even if they sweep the Pirates, they will falter the rest of the season.

However, I'm wrong a lot, and in case I am, I would much rather lose the division to the Pirates than the Cardinals.

So I'm just going to ignore the games so I don't drive myself insane.

I can't root "for" STL under any circumstances, but I won't be rooting for PIT either.

This is one of those "careful what you wish for" situations, IMO.

Part of me thinks it would be better if the Cards win the division and the Reds get the Bucs in the 1-off, but I'm not crazy about facing either one.

I hope the Reds are all alone in 2nd place by the end of that series. You do the math.

Reds still have 7 against the Cardinals and the final 3 against the Pirates. Be nice to see Reds sweep Cubs and gain on both teams with one them taking two of three.

Would like to be tied with Bucs by the final series. Let's start the playoffs early.
As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.
