    Restaurant recommendations

My family is coming in for a Bengals game the first weekend in October. My plan is to have us go out to dinner Saturday night and then after the game on Sunday before they leave. It's going to be at least 10 people coming in and that's added to my girlfriend, her 14 yr. old daughter and probably my GF's mom. It's possible my GF's sister and brother in law may join us on Sunday. The Incursion - as my GF calls it - will consist of 7 adults, two teenagers and an 8 year old girl.

I'm not looking for a fancy dining place like the Precinct or Jeff Ruby's or the Palace or Morton's. When my family gets together they can be a little loud but not obnoxious. I don't know where they are staying yet - I've recommended several places in the Blue Ash-Sharonville area - but I would like to take them downtown or the riverfront. I'm thinking the Montgomery Inn Boathouse and/or the Moerlein Lager House. I know the latter has a room for large parties and I'm guessing the Boathouse has one as well. Would either/both of those places be able to accommodate The Incursion or should I look at other options? Also, how far in advance should I make the reservations?

I may be in the minority, but im not a fan of Montgomery Inn. Coming because of the experience and to experience the boat house is one thing..but the Ribs are not very good imho. And ive been my fair share of times. Each time convincing myself "No they are good maybe you just werent feeling bbq today." But everytime its the same thing. Extremely dissapointed in how it tastes.. Elis BBQ which is right down the road has much better food

Yardhouse would also be a solid choice. If they stay out in Blue Ash, Firehouse Grille is decent.

With a party that large, I'd consider booking reservations now (or when you make your decision of where to go) then reconfirm them a couple of weeks prior.

Don't have many recomendations, sunday after a Bengals game could be tough, especially at the boat house or something close to the stadium. Perhaps Parker's Blue Ash Grille?

If they like to get loud, the Hofbrauhaus Newport is good. If the weather is nice, the beer garden is great.

Arnold's used to book their top floor for large groups. I've been to many a party there.

Nicholson's is my fave. It might be a little fancier than you're looking for, but the food is excellent.
