Re: Beat the Streak in a Day

I got 36. But I didn't have a chance to correct against the lineups, so I was stuck with some guys who didn't play or start, like Coco Crisp and Ike Davis.

And Cabrera went 0 for 5. Who figured?

37 for me. Cabrera going 0 fer means nobody won, I'm sure. Looks like the top guy got 51.

45, which seems pretty decent, but still not close to winning.

Losers... Mclouth, RZimmerman, Bourn, Franklin, Beltre, Reyes, Hosmer, AJones, Machado, Swisher, Cuddyer, and like everyone else Miggy.

    Thanks for nothing Orioles.

38/52 for me. I forgot to correct guys sitting out before the deadline so I was stuck with them.

    Losers:
    Ichiro Suzuki
    Bryce Harper
    Jose Reyes
    Jimmy Rollins
    Wil Myers
    Norichika Aoki
    Adrian Beltre
    Austin Jackson
    Miguel Cabrera
    Alex Gordon
    Michael Bourn
    Carlos Santana
    Starlin Marte
    Michael Cuddyer
    Didi Gregorious
    Adrian Gonzalez
    Hanely Ramirez
    Carl Crawford
    Manny Machado

I also realized that I knew little to nothing about AL teams. I didn't pick one guy from Twins, Mariners, or the White Sox. Also, didn't pick any one from the Cubs or Mets either.

Was this a one day only game or is it every day?
I think it is a one day thing, but I think we should continue to do it (for fun of course, unless someone wants to pony up $5.6 million). Maybe weekly or bi-weekly or something. I thought it was fun actually paying attention to more than two games (Reds and Cards/Pirates) last night too. Checking off names as my phone updates each box score was fun too.

You would think Dunkin Donuts could continue to sponsor this for the rest of the season. I would think it highly unlikely anyone could win the $5.6 million. I like it it too. I kept looking for my players to see if they got hits. All my Reds did,Choo,Votto and Bruce.

Yeah, that would be cool. Yesterday was a bit lucky too as there were some high scoring games and a lot of extra inning games too. Maybe, be effective to offer the game on days when every team is playing though.

I lucked out and got all my Reds hits too: Votto, Bruce, Choo, and Phillips.

I did this earlier this year, so there's been at least 2 this year. I think they only go for days all teams are playing and without day games, so all the lineups are out before the selections are locked.

That is about 90% of my list... but I had a few more as I only had 41.

Haha, it might be just as hard picking 57 starting position players who will not get a hit in a day.

EDIT: One of my first picks might have been Frazier, and look how that turned out today...

Looks like they are doing it again. This is for the Friday night games. Definitely will be fun to do again, especially when you have to predict if a team will rest or play its starters.

We should all do this challenge again and record our number of guys with hits and who we chose that didn't get a hit.

No Pirates for me, Bailey is throwing a no-hitter tomorrow (knock on wood).
