Big difference between early season Broxton and late season Broxton.

He's gone from passing gas to throwing gas.

"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Well the one thing I've learned from this series is that Homer Bailey is a bum.

So far this series there have been 10? pitchers used by the Reds. All four earned runs go to 1 of them (a rough start but not horrible). The other 9 have allowed zip.

    And there she is.

Ho hum, that's 10 K's and no walks by Reds' pitching today. Just another day at the ball yard.

Have they come up with a metric in any of the new type of stats that factors in pitches a batter forces as part of his value?
If you've read the book "The Kid Who batter 1.000", you'd know that any player who could foul off balls at will would eventually walk every time up. Well, not every time, but I don't want to spoil the ending.....
