I really hope so, as I love his pedigree, but you've got to wonder if this is a Bakersfield bump. Compared to last year BBs are down (8.1% to 5.9%), Ks are up (21.9% to 16.4%), ISO is way up (.137 to .222), yet he still only has a wRC+ of 102. I love seeing a big, projectable athlete like Waldrop progress, but until he puts up numbers in Pensacola (or the AFL), I'm going remain a bit skeptical.

Fair point, IMO he's a perfect candidate for the AFL. He, Juan Silva or Seth Mejias-Brean should be the guy below AA that makes it.

The dude has 29 XBH in 186 ab's since the all-star break, after having 24 in 256 ab's prior. He has more doubles, more triples and more homeruns. It certainly seems like he's figured out the league.

He's hitting for more power at home, but, a .189 ISO on the road is not too shabby. He's only 21, which I am guessing is young for the league
