Was this the least applauded Heisman announcement since they started doing it this way? It seemed like there was a silence for some reason. For a landslide winner, shouldn't the reception be different?

I think James Franklin is their best choice right now in Texas. If you can get him within the next three weeks, he can keep the staff together and make out good with the post dead recruiting. Texas will want someone that is upbeat and sounds good on TV. Thats Franklin, Briles, or Dabo. Their personalities are perfect for TV.

Vols fans feel disappointment as a lynch pin of their defensive recruiting class flips to Auburn during a big haul day for the Tigers as JUCO's fax in their LOIs.
DaVante Lambert is the #1 JUCO DE in the nation but he can play both on the inside and on the end while his combination of speed and size poses significant match up problems at either end or tackle. The Vols staff considered him a lock as late as Friday having the last in home visit with him. He was described as "the most important piece of this class" by Vols staff. Garner has been a recruiting thorn in the Vols' side and it's believed the time with Garner during Lambert's official visit to the Iron Bowl "turned the tide" in his recruitment.
The Tigers also received signed LOIs from the #1 JUCO center, Xavier Dampeer (3 Star), the #1 JUCO safety Derrick Moncrief (4 star) and the #1 JUCO WR and #1 JUCO player overall, D'haquille Williams (5 star).
Williams is another huge get as LSU was in on him in a big way as well and he is considered a lock to be playing on Sundays given his size, speed and play making ability (6'3", 215 lbs). Moncrief, was a solid commit with no drama expected but is another great get given Auburn's depth issues in the secondary. Moncrief is likewise expected to step right in to the playing rotation to be a difference maker.
All in all, a great day for Auburn that will bump their team ranking higher in what is looking like could be a top 5 class depending upon how patient the Tigers are filling their remaining spots. All of the guys who signed their LOI today are expected to see significant playing time next season. These guys will enroll in January and are expected to start practicing with the team to finish out the year and travel (but obviously not dress) to Pasadena.

In other news, 5-star safety Laurence "Hootie" Jones (Monroe, La.) decommitted from Alabama this afternoon which is kind of continuation of a stunning trend with 4 star corner prospects Bessent and Roberts jumping ship from Bama in recent weeks.
None of these guys are considered in jeopardy of being non-qualifiers.... something strange is going down in Ttown. Odds are Hootie is going home to LSU.

It's all about playing time:
LSU fans learned safety Micah Eugene is no longer with the team. Rumors going around that Ha Ha might come back next year.
