    Sad news indeed. And it's doubly sad news to me as both a Hoosier fan as well a fellow Fort Wayne Elmhurst grad, albeit 18 years prior to Hardy graduating.

    Sadly, gifted athlete as he was, injuries and off-field issues derailed his professional career. As happens so often in situations such as this, it goes without saying that one is left to wonder what may have been.

    I heard a story over on the IU site. The guy said that Hoeppner called James into his office one day. In his office he had an entire wall filled with Ben Roethlisberger photos. He pointed at another wall in his office where there was nothing, and told Hardy that wall was reserved for him.

    Just a shame.
    ...and this one belongs to the Reds.
