Ya I actually thought it was a pretty good effort from Tsonga. It seemed he returned a lot more serves than normal (For his relatively low standards), but Federer still chalked up consistently easy points with his positioning. Will be interesting to see how Murray handles Federer's serve and volleying... Tsonga just had no answer.

I generally try to avoid comments like this, especially because these women can really play and I watch women's tennis because I enjoy the quality of play. But I'm watching Bouchard vs Ivanovic right now and this could be the most beautiful quarter final in grand slam history. This Bouchard is only 19 and has some serious skills. Ivanovic used to be #1 and beat Serena. But man they are gorgeous.

Yes. It was marketed as the "Battle of the Beuts".

Too bad for Ana that her hip injury (she defeated Serena with it) flared up during the match. Looks like it's about over for her.

Two of the few women who aren't fat. Can't believe how someone can play tennis for a living and have a gut at the same time, but so many of these women do. These two certainly do not.

It's a bonus in viewing them play.

That's a pretty crappy thing to say. I don't think any of these women are fat at all. Comments like that are exactly why I hesitated to say anything. Guess I shouldn't have brought it up. These women are world class athletes. I was simply taken by the beauty of these two great tennis players. I'm not going to participate in any degradation of others'. Sorry I said anything.

There's no degradation in being aghast how someone who plays tennis for a living can have a gut, but so many of these women on the tour do exactly have that...a gut. There's nothing athletic about that. It's back to the "golfer is an athlete" discussion. Until Tiger came along, it just wasn't true.

What the heck is Tomas Berdych wearing? Guess he's trying to distract Ferrer.

Stan is the Man. Did anyone get a chance to watch that match? Good to see him breakthrough again.

Stunning win. Djokovic has dominated this tournament in recent years and he was cruising he ran into Wawrinka.

Just finished watching on my iPad in my office. Awesome match. Djokovic played really well but Wawrinka just outplayed him. I love Djokovic, but was really happy about this result. I love seeing guys like Wawrinka break through. He's definitely a blue collar tennis player and has an awesome game. This is his 2nd straight semi in a grand slam.

He's got Berdych in the semi, who he should beat, but Berdych had a pretty easy time in his quarter. It will all depend on if Wawrinka can recover in time. I like his chances to get to the final. There's an outside chance he could wind up against Federer for an all Swiss final. That's unlikely as I don't see Federer getting through both Murray and Nadal, but it would be a good story.

I have a hard time envisioning an all-Swiss final as both players have holes in their games. Yes, that was a cheesy pun.
Zero chance the Reds miss the playoffs!

Wawrinka-Berdych will be a hitting war. My guess is Wawrinka wins on the basis of being better at spraying it wide.

The other side of the draw is a minefield. Rafa technically has the easiest match, but the Australian Open traditionally is the major where you get the most upsets. If Dimitrov bangs hard enough and keeps his head, he could win. Rafa isn't at pinpoint accuracy yet. Murray's a real interesting story, coming back from injury and looking to make a run at Rafa and Djokovic for the #1 ranking. Federer's only chance of the final, IMO, is if Dimitrov pulls the upset against Rafa.

If Rafa wins this thing, it has some historical ramifications. It would make Rafa the first guy since Rod Laver to win at least two of each major title, hopefully eradicating the last vestiges of the argument that he's a clay court specialist. It also would tie him with Pete Sampras at 14 majors and extend Rafa's record of consecutive years with at least one major title to 10 (he's only 27 years old). Beyond that, if Rafa continues his dominance at the French Open after a win here, he'd be heading into Wimbledon with a shot at a lineal Grand Slam. Still a lot of work for him to do, but it's a tantalizing thought.

Anyone watching the clinic Radwanska is putting on against Azarenka?

Agnieszka Radwanska just played a masterpiece against Azarenka. She covered crazy amounts of ground and made some jaw-dropping shots.

Murray has looked really good so far. Federer is going to have to play a great match to beat him. I'm an unapologetic Federer fan, but I think he'll have a hard time holding it together for 5 sets if he's pushed.

You're right about Federer's best chance to win. He won't be rafa....period.

Nadal's 4th round match against Nishikori is one of my favorite matches of his I've ever watched. He clearly didn't have his best stuff and his opponent was playing the match of his life. I also think the blisters were limiting him. If I didn't know who the players were and wasn't watching the score, I'd have thought Nadal was getting beaten soundly. Yet he won in straight sets.

It was the most un-Rafa like match I've seen him play. He couldn't overpower Nishikori like he usually does, so he started playing like Novak. He played defense and picked a few spots here and there. I love the guy, but this match made me respect his game even more. He's supremely talented physically, but he has a great tennis mind and that was apparent watching his last match.

But all that said, and even with their head to head record, I still have Federer ahead of him in my own completely subjective list of best players.

Rafa just had the worst service game of his life, three double faults.
