Liriano looking sharp in first inning tonight. Rooting for the Pirates. Don't even care about the race impact. AGAINST the Cards. Period.

Bases loaded for Byrd - after a McCutchen K, Byrd K's. Not an empty seat in the house in PIT.

Those announcers for the Pirates were screaming about Jones's 2-run double like the Bucco's had just won the World Series.

Liriano breezes through inning 2 - Kozma is awful, just awful. People who were equating him with Cozart early in the season were really, really insulting Zach. Even with Zach's shortcomings there is a big gulf between Kozma and Zach's offense. Kozma is a zero.

Cards haven't scored a run since Tuesday. 14 innings, 6 hits, and no runs combined in this game and Wednesday's game.

DBacks lost 1-0 to the Giants. Reds remain six games ahead of the DBacks and 6.5 ahead of the Nationals.

Darn, I wanted to be able to keep saying "Cards haven't scored a run since Tuesday...."

    Oh well, 2-1 Pirates.
