    Cardinals To Sign A.J. Pierzynski

A perfect fit of player personality and team! Phillips re-validated every year...

Assuming nobody is injured, they barely gave Kottaras a chance. Or they suddenly realized, "Holy crap, we signed George Kottaras."

Even though AJ can be annoying with the media and whatnot, I like his grittiness on the field. Living in Chicago and hating the Cubs, I have grown to love the White Sox and AJ was always one of my favorite players while he was here. This would be a good move for the Cards as he can step in and contribute immediately.

The deal with the devil made them do this. I hope the deal goes sour, but it is the Cardinals..once you join them you instantly grow 2 feet taller and are a greater person.

Actually he strikes me as perfect Cardinal in every way. Teammates love him, opponents hate him.

Oh he isn't? I thought i had heard otherwise. It was the only explanation I could see for him getting so many jobs.

OTOH, Jim Edmonds was pretty much loathed in Anaheim and loved in St. Louis so we'll see.

Granted, you have to consider the sources, but these kinds of things keep getting reported about him:

According to multiple sources within the Red Sox clubhouse, Pierzynski had become such a negative influence on the team that players approached both the Sox coaches and front office to address the problem. The common theme expressed was the catcher's seeming indifference toward his teammates and the common goals of the same organization that had relied on an all-for-one approach when winning the 2013 World Series.

One of the most hated players in MLB (by his peers) joins the Cardinals. Perfect.

He's also a joke defensively. So, when the Reds play against the Cards and he's starting, release the hounds on the basepaths.

Gritty? He's a wus. Who was that scrub catcher from the Cubs who punched him in the face and Pierzynski didn't even fight back?

Not exactly my definition of "gritty."

Or did you just misspell "girly"?

Michael Barrett. Just saw that video a couple days ago. It's a fun watch but it reminds me of Farnsworth v. Wilson.

Actually, in Boston, the former was not true, and that was part of the issue.
