    We're still good!

    LOL.
Cards up 4-2 on the Brewers in the 6th. Padres vs. Pirates in warmup.

Hopefully we can get either the Cards or Pirates to lose.

Maybe it's needless or perhaps it's just a set of hitters with a good approach as KC stated, but Chapman's recent outings have me mildly concerned.

97-100 fastball with hanging 88 mph slider

I'm going to give Arizona more credit hitting than taking away from Chappy.....though my Mazzone quote fits.

my opinion -- his confidence is shaken but he threw good pitches for the most part -- just not overpowering like he can be -- and as was said before the hitters came in with a plan it seemed
The older I get - the better I was

and yes - I hate the Cardinals (Reds fan since 1958)

Chapman will give up some hits now and then, runs even.

Of course hitters come up there with a plan. Swing and hope. Or some teams use the "do not swing until two strikes" approach. He is a guess hitter's dream. You have a 90% chance of being right on what pitch is coming. When they connect (which is rare), the result sends more than it should into a chicken little tailspin.

My favorite pitcher to watch right now is Hoover. When he flips that curve, the best hitters in the world foolishly watch it go by right down the middle. His arm action is so deceptive, they do not recognize it all and their minds just can't compute what to do. Then he puts them away with 93-95 on the corner or elevated. Very cool to watch.

I read on the Yahoo games story that this was Hoover 23rd consecutive game without giving up a run and that was a Reds record! Congrats to Hoover. He's been nails lately. I really believe he could be a closer very soon.
