Yea, we could cut Paul and it would not be a huge loss. I agree with that.

I think Hannahan (or someone like him) is needed. I don't want to only have one backup infielder.

Still, not sure the cost-benefit is worth it, unless the Reds consider DeJesus a passable CF (I can't make a judgement myself) and wanted to commit to him for next year. Apparently Washington wants him back next year.

I honestly think the budget was fully maxed out this year, that's why all the creativity was needed to work out the Choo deal.

It sure would be interesting to know what Chicago's asking price was before the July 31 deadline though (if it was greater than what they settled for)
