    Valdez.

They want a guy who can defend the critical shortstop position.

Such players, when backups, seldom can hit well.

Teams view it as important to have good defenders in the middle of the infield.

    Hell of a pitcher.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

I don't think it was a slam. Just the truth. This team is very quiet. Most likely because they don't have a real clubhouse leader.
Yes that was a very impressive infield single. I thought for a second it was leaving the yard. - texasdave 10/13/12

Don't have much of a prayer against this guy. Maybe somebody will get lucky and run into one.

I haven't heard one way or another, but if I had to bet...I'd say Tony strained his back trying to beat out that bunt single.

Well, I'm not going to nitpick. It was extremely close and could've gone either way IMO. The homer in me says he was safe. But I'm old enough to know that it's me being a homer.
