That series win makes it very likely the Reds, Cards and Pirates will all make the playoffs as the Diamondbacks are 7 out with 36 left. Barring a colllapse by one of Central teams very unlikely the Diamondbacks make up that ground. Especially considering they still have 7 games left against the red hot Dodgers.

I was actually thinking it looked like Lil Stormy Weathers was on the mound.

Of the first 3 batters, the only ball that was scorched was hit by Prado that Votto snared.

Goldy basically went the other way and hit a soft line drive to RF.

Hill hit a routine GB that simply found the hole between SS and 3rd.

3 of 4 against a winning team, check

Dusty uses his closer in the 8th (injury induced, but there were other options and he was warming before Broxton was known to be injured) and lets someone else pitch the 9th for a save in the other game, check

The Reds win a high-scoring game, check

What other trends were busted this series?

Don't forget the Reds took 3 of 4 from a "good" team.

And the team chasing them for the last playoff spot. I'd call that a "Shinebox" series.

Didn't read any other posts on this thread...

The "W" is the important thing.

Thank God Latos was awesome and the defense made some plays. Our offensive gameplan was simply atrocious. We scored only because of wild pitches. The old bass ackwards be aggressive on the guy who can't repeat his motion and has walk issues.

"He has trouble throwing strikes and he's going to be trying to get ahead and we need to jump on him and hit that first pitch" That pitcher was missing by feet, wild pitch, wild pitch, wild pitch. He had no control but our swinging early allowed him to go SEVEN innings giving up 1 run.

This win was despite whoever made the offensive gameplan.

    Thank God for Latos.

They scored 100% more runs than Arizona.
