Which point are you referring to? Where I showed Bruce has superior power or defense?
Choo is better at getting on base, doesn't mean he is a better player. It means he is better at getting on base. Bruce is better at hitting for power and defense. I think they are pretty equal.
I am a big fan of both Bruce and Choo. I am not biased in saying I think Bruce is pretty equal with ALL things considered. I do not give too much weight to defense, it is very important.
I displayed XBH because one of my points was Bruce has superior power and OPS while including SL% does not pinpoint a player's power. I laid out the differences in the players in a previous post, but I will do it again.
Choo is better at getting on base (elite)
Bruce has more power
Bruce is way better on defense (elite)
Oh yeah, and Bruce is 5 years younger.
The Reds are lucky to have both players. If they were both free agents next season and the Reds could only sign one of them I would pick Bruce every day of the week and twice on sunday, and its not because I am a "huge bruce fan" it is because I am a huge Reds fan.
This thread has become....odd, to say the least.

Interesting that Red Team Go!failed to mention that he joined redszone this year also.
I hate to say it but this could be a perfect example of two guys that deserved to be 'seasoned' a little in the SunDeck. Something that I was deffinately against. (famous shrug)

As far as choo goes, while I love his play I'm of the opinion of giving him a qualifying offer, getting the pick putting Hamilton in center next year and pursue either a third baseman or shortstop in the offseason that is offensively more productive than cozart and Frazier but perhaps costs less years and dollars than choo. Our best three non pitching prospects are outfielders Hamilton Winker and Ervin. An aging choo would just block them in the next year or two. Go with ludwick as a stopgap for this year.
As for the quality of offense I'd say Hamilton/ludwick/a seasoned mesoraco/a new third or SS would equal a better offense than choo/black hole platoon in left/ Frazier or cozart/ and our catching platoon this year.
