Wow! They got the double play on a hit-and-run. That was fantastic.

OUCH! Logan tries barehanding that one. And then Phillips with an absolute gem on the rebound!

I do believe that'll be your web-gem nominee for the night ESPN.

Phillips redeems himself on the error by making a great play on a ball that was deflected by Ondrusek. 3-3 after 6 1/2.

Out of curiosity, are you basing that off the sum of 5-6 games you've seen him against the Reds? It seems you remember him hitting a homer of Cingrani and a double off Leake, and therefore he must feast off fastballs.

The guy has a grand total of 77 MLB plate appearances. I think it's far too early to say what he can or can't hit.

Isn't that Homer's MO much of the time.....still makes enough mistakes like the pitch to Davis that keep his ERA in the mid to high 3s.

At this stage of his career, Philips only grades out at about average range wise.

Obviously the Reds felt like they knew something about him, throwing him all fastballs.

I do believe he played some minor league ball. Perhaps some info about his tendencies was gleaned from there.
