    Playoff Dates

I'm pretty sure they haven't been released yet, and even once they are some will depend on results of the previous series' games, but does anyone have a rough idea for dates for the various playoff series - specifically Wild Card, NLDS, and NLCS? I believe the WS dates are already out there (with the NL team likely playing at home Sat-Mon 10/26-10/28).

As a partial season ticket holder, I'll have a chance to purchase 1 ticket starting on Thursday at noon. The cheapest is the bleachers at $710/seat for all games with the view level next at $945/seat. So I took $1K out of savings just in case.

This may be a dumb question but how do they know how much to charge if they don't know how many home games there will possible be? A division winner, potentially, could have more home games than the second wild card winner.

The ticketing systems used now can easily automatically refund credit cards for games not played or make additional charges for "if necessary" games that are played.

    Not dumb at all...

This is what I paid for 1 Bleacher seat:

    1 Wild Card Game
    3 Division Games
    4 NL Championship Games
    3 World Series Games

    11 games total = $710 + $25 (fees) = $735
    2024 Reds record attending: 1-0
    2024 Dragons record attending: 0-0
    2024 Y'Alls record attending: 0-0

For 11 post season games that's not a bad deal. Less than $77 a game no matter where you are setting isn't that bad. I am assuming you get refunded for any games not played?

    Re: Playoff Dates

Question, and apologies if this has been covered elsewhere. How are tickets handled for a potential one-game playoff if it's in Cincinnati? Have these gone on sale to the general public (non-season-ticket holders) yet? If not, any idea when they will? I'm assuming it's some kind of lottery system, but I can't find anything on reds.com. Admittedly I did not look incredibly hard.

edit: So looks like there was a lottery for the WC game yesterday. I should have considered travel plans earlier

Regular season record matters less than winning your division for playoff seeding, right?

For instance, if the Reds win the WC, even if they finish with a better record than the Dodgers, if the Reds win the WC game and play LA, LA would have home field advantage (because they won their division, even if they had a worse record than the Reds) - is that correct?

    (Definitely confusing)

In other words, wild card teams will open LDS and LCS on the road no matter what, right?

I think that is correct. the Wild Card is the fourth seed regardless of record. That's the way it was when there was only one WC team and I don't think that's changed. It was only weird last year because of scheduling issues.

Division winner gets homefield over Wild Card regardless of record.

    Re: Playoff Dates

My dad and I missed out on the lottery last year for the NLDS games, but we were able to purchase tickets for the NLCS and WS games in which my dad dropped $1000+ for 4 tickets to each game. He figured he could sell tickets not used and make back some money. Still stings though that we lost game 5.

Anyways, we monitored StubHub and Craigslist for NLDS tickets and happened to get the Game 5 tickets for pretty cheap. I think we were in the 400's section too for something like less than $20 a ticket. Of course the game was at 12 or 1 o'clock or something. I still remember the tension and my knees shaking when Bruce battled Romo for what seemed like forever.
