I never said I had a problem with people overreacting in a game thread. But an overreaction should be able to be responded to, and corrected, when it happens. And unlike this kind of comment that happens once in a blue moon, the constant negativity in this thread happens every night all night and usually by the same folks.
As I said, I'm not denying Phillips overreacted. But I find it just as ironic people that overreact constantly on a message board are outraged that Phillips overreacted at comments made about him. He's showing emotion. He went too far, yes, but he's just reacting out of frustration. Just think he should be cut some slack.

Reds have now out scored St Louis 16-14 in this series. That means they've won at least one of the two games, right?
Shaking my head. The series from Hades.

I don't think anybody is justifying or saying BP was in the right for what he said, but Trent is a big boy and he knows how these ballplayers can get. Much ado about nothing, IMO.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Choo makes the third out twice in the first three innings. What were the pregame odds of that happening?
Cardinals have their first baserunner.
Whatever Phillips did, right or wrong, perhaps it helped wake the Reds up.
9-0 Reds, bottom third, Bailey pitching to Johnson of the Cards. Single grounded into left. Man on first for Cards.
Hopefully the Reds now realize that, yes, they can actually compete with the Cardinals and this silly peeing-down-their-leg act is over.
Fly to Bruce, one out, one on.
