also, I think it has become clear that nobody on the Reds current roster should be stealing bases. D-rob and hamilton when they get back, but we sure do lack speed in the starting 8.

I dunno. It's taking off that he seems slow as a tortoise. He is just so slow getting out of the box since his surgery. Once he gets going he is okay but he seems to take forever toget to speed

I don't doubt that Jake. But just watch him run. You can see the lack of effort. Maybe he's afraid to push himself. Certainly understandable, but I haven't seen him really push himself running in a LONG while.
    2014 predictions:
99-63 WS champs (Cards take 2nd WC, Mil 3rd, Pit 4th, Chi 5th)
Bruce/Votto neck and neck MVP race (neither takes it)
    Bailey CYA winner
    Hamilton ROY & GG

Hope Leake has the good stuff today. His contact friendly style in Coors is scary, Helton could be licking his chops after what he did to Bronson.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Well, that's not the best of starts. Bruce never saw it.

I tend to agree. And since the leg he is pushing off of to get out of the box is the one he injured, it's a reasonable assumption.

    No more of those, Leake.
