Choo in this series has been absolutely superb. He is quite a ballplayer. Walt made a great deal to acquire him, too bad he hasn't had more support this year.

BP bluffs a bunt. Don't see why Reds would use a bunt here.

I didn't say it was a great play. Just that the reaction here was a little over the top. People act like he spit in Berry's face while rounding third then trotted home and thanked the catcher for tagging him out so nicely. I admit it was a bad play but Joey is trying very hard. Sorry if you don't see that.

Official word from Reds: The whole play with Votto running through the stop sign was designed to be a rope-a-dope. Berry threw up the stop sign as a DECOY and JV was trying to quietly tip-toe to home plate undetected. Unfortunately, Helton alertly sniffed it out.
For every action there is an equal and opposite criticism.

Maybe he is trying too hard. That running play was pretty ill-advised.

At the bat, it would be interesting to track Joey's hit chart. Just wonder if he is trying to pull the ball now, hit for more power.

Joey was pretty effective mostly going to left field, but maybe he's trying to drive the ball more now.

Another grounder to second. Joey needs to get that left field swing back. Two outs.

Nothing prevented him from hitting a grounder to second and moving the runner over.
