The guy that charged Nolan Ryan had a fine career....but no one will remember him for anything else.

Johnny Baker was a pretty good player for 19 seasons. Has a World Series ring, a Gold Glove, was an All-Star, invented the high five, and not sure if anyone has heard this before, but he was on deck when Hank Aaron hit home run #714.

“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Single-season Home-run leader still. Roids players do not count and are an embarrassment to baseball. McGwire should be banned from baseball.

That's my final answer.
Only 1161 hits.
Couldn't get to the Majors until he was 26 due to the race barrier.
Career 57% Caught Stealing!!!!!!
Though Greenberg could easily be first. Depends upon the weight given to the Catching position vs 1B/LF.

Gotta be Shoeless Joe. Would have surpassed 2000 easily, and never really did anything wrong besides accepting the money to cheat, which he didn't.
Jackie Robinson was mentioned in the first post on this thread. I wonder if people realize how great a player Jackie was. Because of racial discrimination he did not make the majors until he was age 28 in 1947. He still put together eight terrific seasons before he finally began to fade in 1955-56. Had there been no color line (and no World War II), Jackie may have been in the majors nearly a decade earlier. His best years could have been before he was 28.

I learned this weekend that there is a 2500 hit club. The Rockies just created it. PT Barnum would be proud.
