    Stuff 4 Sale @ GABP

So I'm walking around GABP on Monday to get out of the sun for a few minutes, Mat was dealing. I walk over to the concourse on the 3rd base side, between home and where they film Reds Live. There is a little "shop" that sells game used jerseys, balls, bats etc. and even bases used in games. So i see a beer bottle opener made from game used bats. I thought it was a novel idea so i asked the guy how much. He calmly says two-fifty and i think to myself, i've got that much in my pocket..... whoa did you say two-fifty, as in two hundred and fifty dollars? yep. For a bottle opener.

For $250 I better not only get the game used Joey Votto splinter of a bat bottle opener, but i better have Joey himself open the beer and it better be delivered by that bear that drinks Labatt's Blue. I didn't even bother to ask how much 3rd base was.

Pretty sure I saw quite a few game-used bats that were way cheaper than that last time I went.

Marge use to put every broken bat for sale in the gift shop. They were around $40 in the '90's. The good players went fast, and the rack would be full of Luis Quinones, Herm Winnigham and Jeff Reed bats.

Crazy. I refuse to buy anything but Pepsi and dogs at the ballpark. I really wanted a Polo one day. The cheapest in the entire gift shop was $75.

    The t-shirt (nice looking) are $42 !!!!

Plus everything is jacked up for the Cards series anyways.

My parking spot pretty much under Rt 50 is $5.....but lots literally 50 yards closer are $15!

I gave a homeless guy $2 and he flipped me off.

You're ASSUMING it was a homeless guy. Might've been Chris Carpenter. Just sayin.

They still do that. They also sell them at Redsfest, I think the stars go for around $100-$150 now and the scrubs around $50

You can't be serious. 250 for a bottle opener? I have to think there was some misunderstanding somewhere.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Cincinnati Bengals - None
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

Almost all of the game used bats at the same stand are cheaper than that. Crazy price for a bottle opener, and I say that as someone who generally loves the Reds Authentics booth.

It's only $84.99 on the website. What a bargain!
