That game thread is all sorts of fantastic and I mean that.

It stands to reason that any game that goes 16 innings will garner lots of posts

Chris Heisey getting bunt hits probably isn't a great highlight video for the Internet!

That wasn't the case in the past when there were sometimes 2 game threads. Also, in the past a game this late in the season, when the team was pretty much out of contention wouldn't garner much interest, so the count was low even in extra innings.

Just wanted to bring a bit of sunshine to the end of this thread.

Billy Hamilton for the second straight game, pinch ran for Ludwick, stole a base and scored an important run late in the game. Pretty awesome start to his MLB career.

"Man, the pitch looks fast, even in slow motion." Thom Brennaman on Chapman's fastball.

Shows how valuable he can be. He won one game for us and nearly did the same a day later. Clearly he made a one run difference in back to back games and that's huge if you're into WAR stats and such

I was thinking as the game wore on that the loser would likely win the next day and that's exactly what happened. These one game means everything stuff in MLB rarely turns out that way. I never saw it as a devastating loss for our Reds because I never felt like we had the game in hand or that it was a game we should have won. Quite frankly, we didn't play well enough on a lot of levels and the Cards deserved the W. Fine. You move on and try to beat 'em the next day
