This site consistently blames all of its problems on the last guy on the end of the bench- Corey Patterson, Cozart, Juan Castro, etc. Reds Nation consistently blames Baker. When i have mildly critiqued any of the stars here, I have gotten hammered. Not sure about the rest of Cincinnati.

    Yesiree!
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Again, Nothing Wrong With Expecting Your Team's Best Player To Play Big When It Counts Down The Stretch.

And a discussion about the best player on a football team does not translate to baseball.

You say many blame all the Reds problems on Votto....just show me a couple.
already did. Marty on Thom for starters.

And as I said before, even if people don't outright blame everything on Votto, they do so passively aggressively by only focusing on Votto's struggles but never saying a word about the black holes at other positions.

I'd guess this sucks much worse in DC than in CIN. It's nearly all Redskins all the time on all media outlets irrespective of whatever the baseball team is doing. They'll prioritize a 'skins pre-season game over a final-stretch baseball game with playoff implications here (last year). Tell me if I'm wrong but that can't be the case in Cincinnati, right?

Agree completely with this. And I understand the criticism about his play the last few weeks but what I take issue with is when someone says he'll get out of it eventually and the response is "oh so all he will do is walk again".

I think RZ needs a Votto moratorium for a day. Tempers are wearing thin.

    Mildly critiqued? Not really.

Now Cingrani is just toying with 'em.

Now you see the bases. Now you don't.

Patterson was the starting CF and hitting 1st, Cozart is the starting SS and hitting 2nd. They are hardly 'the last guy on the end of the bench'.

We've both made our points. No need to let this get contentious.

I think we can all agree we just want the Reds to win and Joey to play to his ability.

Good talk. See you out there. (Old School Craig Kilborn reference.)
