Didn't have the ability to be a power guy outside of 2010 either. Pushing 200 k a year sucks unless you're a run producing machine.

How do we know he's not Mel Torme?

It wasn't hard to see that lack of speed was hurting this team's ability to score. Nice to see Hamilton rectifying that, at least late and close.

This kid is winning games for us and can't even hit. I wish he could be on our playoff roster.

I can admit when I am wrong, now is that time. BH should definitely be on the playoff roster!

I believe it all it takes is an injury to a playoff eligible player (wink, wink).

I would leave the line up as is, my only thing would hit the pitcher 8th and hit BH last. You're not changing the dynamics of the top of the line up, plus when BH does get on the guys at the top are there to drive him in.

He's eligible to REPLACE an injured player on the playoff roster.

Cool stat they put up. 4 SBs in the first 4 games of a career hasn't happened since 1921. Until today with Billy "electric slide" Hamilton.
Attended 1976 World Series in my Mother's Womb. Attended 1990 World Series Game 2 as a 13 year old. Want to take my son to a a World Series Game in Cincinnati in my lifetime.

Hamilton has been amazing. As much today as the previous three. Love the kid. Want him to stick for postseason. But, here are my two questions:

    1. Do you possibly let him hit in postseason assuming he gets fewer than five AB in Sept with inconclusive results? I think probably not. You keep using him only to PR, since clearly that has been working fantastically well for us.

    2. Eligibility. This came up on the game thread. On one hand, seems Billy wouldn't be eligible for the playoff roster since he wasn't on the 25-man by Aug 31st. He was called up when the roster expanded on the 1st or 2nd. But, there is an allowance for "flex spots" which could be used if someone on the DL, as submitted to MLB on the 31st, couldn't be used. Then Hamilton could take that player's eligibility spot. Does that jive with what the experts here understand and, if so, how likely he ends up playing in October in your view given that (I think) the only two on our DL on Aug 31st were Cueto and Marshall? maybe Broxton?

    1. Let him hit if you REALLY need to but it's better to keep using him the way they have been.

    2. I'm not sure that the player has to have been on the DL as of 8/31. I'm pretty sure though that the playoff roster can change between series.
