Wow 26 straight outs and then #27 singles. That just plain sucks.

Man, that is probably the hardest way to lose a perfect game, aside from actually pitching one and getting a blown call to ruin it.

The reason baseball, really all the major sports, do so well is the drama. The Reds game tonight was high drama. That perfect game attempt, very dramatic.

It's theater without the scripted ending.

I'd rather the Reds be ten games up, but the drama of all this is quite exciting. Tough luck for Petit.

    Great performance, nonetheless.

On 3-2, that only landed a couple inches from glove.

Between that and watching the Reds/Dodgers tonight, man, I can't believe people can prefer football to baseball.

    I was there!!!!

Here I am on a guy from Indiana on a business trip to SF and I randomly pick a game this weekend to check out AT&T stadium and I was but a strike away from seeing baseball history.

    Amazingly bizarre I tell ya.

Will still be a neat story to tell, even though he didn't quite complete the perfecto.

Yea we are laughing about it this morning but last night we were oh so disappointed. It was a great experience though and the stadium is probally the best I have ever seen.

I know two separate people who both were on business trips in 2004 when they decided to take in the DBacks/Braves game where Randy Johnson threw his perfect game.

It is crazy how just a random game in baseball can become so historic.
