    Re: Altuve is so cute!

Adorable Altuve is now rather notably the first second baseman to have more than 220 hits in a season since Charlie Gehringer in 1936 and the first player since Ichiro in 2009. At 211 hits he became the Astros' single-season hit leader. He's hitting over .330 and averages almost 1.5 hits a game (!) Just for fun, earlier this year he also became the first player since Ray Chapman (1917) to steal two or more bases in four consecutive games.

Adorably, he does not even care which bat he uses to swing and sometimes lets his teammates pick his bats for him.

He has been the absolute star of my (either second- or first-place!) fantasy team and I have grown to love him both in the box score and on the highlight reel. Also, he is adorable.
There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.

He is still working out the kinks on his jump swing however.

OT but OF Hack Wilson of the 56 Home Run variety? I guess I'm a little surprised.

Wow! Just think how good your team would have been if you had kept Cueto.

When Altuve gets a big hit, I just imagine John Favreau in the stands, yelling "He's so LITTLE!"
Burn down the disco. Hang the blessed DJ. Because the music that he constantly plays, it says nothing to me about my life.

Just saw that this was a hit and run play, as opposed to him just swinging out of the zone to be an ass-clown. Pretty amazing he could make contact.
". . . acquiring J. Blanton from Oakland for, apparently, Bailey/Cueto, Votto and a lesser prospect. I do it in a second . . . The Reds' equation this year is simple: Make Matt Belisle your #3 starter . . . trade for Blanton, win 85 or more, be in the mix all summer." - Paul Daugherty, Feb. 8, 2008

I think I had posted in the GIF thread that I assumed it was a hit and run play. Really would be the only explanation for a swing like that from a guy with his skill.
