At worst we take 5 out of 7 from the Cards and Dodgers with the Cubs, Brewers and Astros on the way. I like it.

So, the Reds have won the series against the Cardinals and the Dodgers.

    I think they're doing ok

In our recent steak, there has been 3 extremely close games. You can't win them all, and 2 out of 3 of those games is very acceptable. It's hard, IMO, to say we deserved all 3.

    Correction: 4 extremely close games.

Players who are on an MLB club's Disabled List, Bereavement List, Paternity List, Military List, Suspended List, or Restricted List (Prohibited Substance Suspension or extended Bereavement Leave only) as of midnight (Eastern) on August 31st are also eligible to be included on the club's post-season 25-man roster, but only after spending the minimum number of days required to be served by a player on that list. Players on the Disqualified List, Ineligible List, or Restricted List (for reasons other than extended Bereavement Leave or a Prohibited Substance Suspension) as of midnight August 31st are not eligible. Thus, as long as more than 25 players are eligible, the club's MLB Active List (25-man roster) can be "tweaked" prior to the start of each post-season series."

So, there is some nuance to "yes" in that we go back to a 25-man roster and Billy's inclusion would have to come at someone else's expense who was likely a material part of the 2H roster. All said, I of course agree Billy needs to be included for postseason. Dusty's comments at callup pretty clearly implied that wouldn't happen but he has to be reconsidering the plan now.
I'm actually not sure that Billy is eligible for PS. Wasn't he called up on the 1st or 2nd?

Easily the most entertaining and best played week of the season.

Jealous of anyone at the yard today.
And the Dusty bashers will give him credit for absolutely none of it. That's a shame!

By himself, he's not eligible. But due to guys on the DL...he "can" be eligible by making one of the DL guys ineligible.

At least, that's how I read it.
    2014 predictions:
99-63 WS champs (Cards take 2nd WC, Mil 3rd, Pit 4th, Chi 5th)
Bruce/Votto neck and neck MVP race (neither takes it)
    Bailey CYA winner
    Hamilton ROY & GG

Yeah I wanna say I read the same thing. Pretty sure he's eligible to make the roster.

What a great ending today. Got out of our college football game just in time to hear about Billy ByGawd Hamilton swiping another base and beating Puig's arm home for the win.

The noise at GABP on the radio broadcast as Hamilton came out to pinch run was crazy.
Rounding third and heading for home...

Every string he strummed today was right on the money IMO. He called on the right sub for Phillips, he called on the right relievers, pinch hitters, pinch runners, etc. Well played and managed game IMO.

The haters will hate, regardless. Which is sad.

BTW, Dusty is now 57-44 in extra innings as the Reds' manager.

Cant wait for us to win the central, then make a deeeeeeep run into the playoffs, win the WS. Would love to see how the Dusty bashers would take to him being around and extra year or two with a World Series ring on his finger....buwahahahaha
