If he came up with some big hits this September, I could see him being considered. There is no good RH option coming off the bench right now besides the extra catcher. Just trying to come up with a possible explanation.

The more salient question is why NONE of them was selected.

Not Hannahan. But Izturis, Mesoraco, or Robinson would have been better options.

    Great.

Of course Soto's last 1000+ plate appearances in AAA over the past two years should have been enough to tell them that without experimenting during a division race.

Would make a tiny bit of sense if there still was not something at stake.

Nice curve from Hoover for the 1st strike on AGon. And, gets him with a slow grounder back to the mound! Great job by the pen.

My kingdom for a run. Heart of the order coming up and Kershaw is done so we're into their pen. Need to do this now lest this game goes long and late. Or worse.

    NICE work from Mr. Hoover.

Now, let's get Joey on - bunt him over; then pinch hit Corky Miller for Bruce.

Pitch Gonzalez GREAT!!! Got Puig out but was really playing with fire.

We need to score because I don't trust anyone pitching to Hanley or Uribe except Chapman.

Mesoraco may be needed in a long game to catch. He also has been in a deep slump.

Izturis can't hit there because BP isn't that healthy and may need to come out at second base.

Robinson? Yeah, would have been a better choice. Might slap a single. Not necessary for bench. Agree.
