    Congrats Jake. You earned it.

Since Jake will need to recuse himself, we'll need Boss or GIK of one of those uber-moderator-site-owners to rule here. 'til then--and with serious honorable mention credit for you--it's Jake. :-)

You give it the old college try, but energy and stamina is lacking.

They are still in a race for 1st. Wood is not good enough IMO to be able to shut you out for 7 innings. Everything this team did for the last 7 games was great....so they decide to phone it in tonight against this team? And we wonder why people get frustrated with this team.

3 at MIL, who now they cannot beat with worse players on that team.

Your significant other going to the store to purchase cold beer for you late in the game gives life meaning.

“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

I think you are not giving wood enough credit. He's been a stud this year for the Cubbies..... He's even kept Choo and Votto pretty silent every time he faced them this year.

The Wood part of the equation doesn't surprise me in this loss... What surprises me is the Cubs bats ability to get those two runs.... That's the luck part. What an anemic line up... Whiskey tango foxtrot.

Meaning they thought they could take it easier because it was the Cubs.

Look....if they had been playing better against MIL...I would not be that concerned. With this schedule....winning almost every game until heading to PITT is a must in order to win this division, IMO.

Last I checked these guys are not machines. The drop off tonight against a solid LH could be seen coming. By the middle of the game it was obvious they were flat. After taking 6 of 7 emotion filled, high intensity games I don't understand how folks can't give them a pass for a night.

Can still win almost every game until we go to Pitt in spite of a loss tonight. Win the next two, 2/3 in Milwaukee and sweep the AAstros. 10-2 in our last twelve at the point, and 13-3 since the start of that Cards series. Can't really ask for anything more than that if it comes to it.

OK. You are right and it was just bad timing on my part. After watching the bengals.....I guess I am still a little more than irritated.
