All three of our wins vs LA, and two of the four vs STL, were one-run affairs. So no "crushing." That'd be a splitting-hairs point were it not for what it reflects about the offense.
A few days ago, we were all feeling (understandably!) very good about the O doing what it needed to do to get wins. Here against Chicago, we're suddenly not hitting, will likely lose this series and, hopefully avoid a sweep.
I've always been a bit nervous about how far this offense can take us. Nights like the 7-2 win over STL to start that series make you feel good. But, that one aside, we haven't been bringing serious runs across in the past few weeks even though the O has mostly been enough to win. Will that be enough to at least get us into an LCS? I sure hope so but not so sure.
