Dusty used the entire positional expanded roster and most of the pitchers

Broxton works (or worked) at a snail's pace as well.

Bham grounds out and made it fairly close but thank goodness it's over

Until I saw him hit, I couldn't believe Billy Hamilton is 6' tall -- but he's lankier than I thought. I could see him filling out a bit.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

3 back and 2 back. Digging that hole all over again.

    A bit dispiriting this loss.

    But:

    - Good for Billy to get some time in CF and 2ABs. Made decent contact both times.
    - Cozart's streak continues
    - Our bench can hit when called upon!
    - Tomorrow's another day and we can't possibly get swept by the Little Bears. Right?

real skinny - between 23 and 26 or 27 you'd think he'll add 10-20 pounds. Of course he may lose a step in that process too.

Reds pinch off a smelly turd tonight.

Very poor effort from a team in a pennant race with 17 games left.

    Bah.

And, sigh, PIttsburgh is tacking on. Now 5-2 top of the 9th and the Bucs have two on no out. We'll likely be dropping another .5 in the WC standings. Oh, and the Cards are now up 4-0 late.

    A good night to forget.

How many series in a row have we lost to sub-.500 teams now? This team is impossible to figure out.

Since the ASB they are now under .500 (by a game or 2 I think) vs bad teams and something like 7 over vs good teams.

    I don't get it
