Maybe the best course of action at this point is to get Cingrani healthy enough to be a bullpen arm for the playoffs. He and Cueto could be good weapons if a starter falters.

With Cingrani vs Jackson, I had this already in the W column. Too bad they bothered to actually the play the game.

    Ugh, Donnie Murphy.

    4-0 cubs.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

The Reds starting pitching isn't going to dominate every night. The offense has to pick them up time to time. Tonight needs to be one of those times.

I recall the Reds knocking the Cubs out of the playoffs years ago with a late season series win in Chicago. I guess this is their payback, though the Reds still have the Wild Card to fall back on.
    I miss Adam Dunn.
