15 most unethical NCAA football programs in history

Wow, so many more worthy candidates missing and errors in fact, kind of funny.

I do not think OSU is innocent, but this article considers them one of the most unethical program in NCAA history because of one incident?

    OK....

I counted at least 5 programs that somehow got left off this list. A rather strange list indeed! Not to be taken seriously!

How the heck did this guy forget about Oregon?

Well you know any hate list can't be complete without OSU, even if there are a bunch of programs that have committed far worse crimes that convienantly get left off this list

Why is this a hate list?

It's not. It's just a poorly researched one. I think if the author had done his homework, there would be more programs from the late '70s to the late '80s on the list. Not only did you have booster making payments to players, but you had players making it to the NFL who were functionally illiterate. In addition to players getting improper benefits from boosters, they were also allowed to cheat and sometimes even given university provided tutors who facilitated the cheating.

I agree it's superficial. But I get the sense that the author was born in the 90's and he picked some of the most visible examples fom each conference.

Agreed. Although I think such a list is pointless, I wonder, if one would do some research, you should take into account things that happened over 30 years ago. It seemed back in the 50s and 60s - and probably even further back than that - a lot of schools gave extra benefits to football players. Since it appeared that everybody did it, would that count against a school? Also, a lot of what happened was anecdotal. You'll hear some player from back in the 50s say that he got cars and cash from boosters and when he was recruited, other schools offered him extra stuff but the school(s) was never investigated much less put on probation. Grade fixing has been going on since the beginning. Some schools just don't get caught.

Personally, my top would be SMU, PSU, USC, and Bama. I doubt anyone could convincingly argue against those picks.

Boise State should be on the list based solely on the color of their turf.

First time I ever saw that field on TV I thought something was wrong with my TV. I started trying to adjust the color and everything until I figgered it out. It was actual color of the field.

I think some people enjoy this sort of thing more than they actually enjoy college football, which I will never understand.
