LOOGY has to be decent when they switch up a righty on him. Those numbers won't cut it.

If a LOOGY is decent vs. RH batters, he's likely not a LOOGY.

And, in other Nats news following their loss tonight, Strasburg (whose start today was pushed back to tomorrow) has been scratched again with a new projected start for Saturday, if at all again this season. Forearm "tightness" which, of course, can mean anything.

BTW on Parra:

First 5 innings of the season in April, he gave up 5 doubles and 2 homers to RH batters

Since that time, last 36 innings against RHB: 0 doubles and 2 home runs (both in one June game against Colorado)

How many AB's against RHB in those 36 innings? I'm guessing maybe 15. He's been a LOOGY since he came back from the DL.

For the record, I'm not complaining about Parra's performance. I'm complaining about how he was used.

Because they lost a game, while we might be about to lose to the Lastros to keep pace with them? Why would that cause piping down?

Hard to sweep on the road, even against these guys. But the Reds took a calculated risk pitching Reynolds. This wasn't entirely unexpected with the decision not to use Latos.

But the Reds are still in good shape, game is tied, Hoover, Chapman, both rested and available.

The Reds led when Reynolds left, and added to the lead after he left. I didn't expect long innings from him. Just don't get hammered and turn it over to the bullpen. I'd like to see another 1.2 IP from him, but a loss tonight certainly wouldn't be on him. At all. I still think win and sweep, so it's moot.
