That can't be right. If Cincy is the home to Buntapalooza, what does that make the other cities? Buntstock, Buntaroo, Rock the Bunts and The Bunting Man?

WOY - What is the Reds bunting efficiency? Are they in line with the league in successful sacrifice bunts %. Is this tracked?

Since we see them all the time the general perception is the Reds are simply an awful bunting team.

Unsure, don't believe that data is anywhere joe fan can find it, maybe Info Solutions.

But from that BP article has this tidbit:

One edge for the Reds: they were one of baseball’s best baserunning teams, even before the arrival of Billy Hamilton. They aren’t effective thieves; even including Hamilton’s 13-for-14, the Reds have the NL’s second-lowest stolen base success rate. But only the Phillies and Brewers were better at advancing on groundballs.

Brian Kenny just said on the air that he and Harold Reynolds will go trick-or-treating together.

Kenny: "We're gonna go out for Halloween and trick-or-treat together. You will be Dusty Baker. And who am I? (He assumes a batting stance.) Ring the doorbell."

    Reynolds: "Ding dong."

Kenny: (as he drops down into a bunting position) "I'm the number 2 hitter for the Cincinnati Reds." (laughter) C'mon, I'm bunting. (more laughter)

Reynolds: "Wow. And you know what they did? They took their candy from you right now."

Clearly Dusty should have bunted less with pitchers cause bunts hurt your feelings and stuff.

According to baseball-reference.com, the Reds were successful 85 out 112 times, or 76% of the time. They show the league-average success rate as 73%.

Just because others do it more, doesn't mean the Reds are doing it right.

How do you feel about bunting? That is what leads to the Reds in this flowchart for fans with teams not in the postseason.
