Fox worries about ratings and two big market teams like Giants and Yankees is a good gamble for better ratings than two mid-market teams.... whether or not they are in the hunt. Reds and Pirates primary audiences will be well covered by the regional fox affiliates.

Sad though. I'll be catching the game on MLB Network.

Yeah it is worth it overall just frustrating no matter how much money I want to give MLB those Reds games are unavailable to me. Even if it is an extra cost should be somehow available to people who want to watch.

Five teams ahead of them for 2 spots in the AL wildcard. I haven't tried to see if those five teams play each other, but if they do (a lot), I guess the Yankees could actually be virtually mathematically eliminated. If not, they are barely mathematically alive.

FSO has picked up extra day games when Fox grabs rights to a Saturday broadcast. This has to be the season with the most televised Reds games.

I believe next season that changes. You will be able to see the FOX games on MLBTV.

Also I just saw that you can get MLBTV for the rest of the season for $3.99. If someone wants to try it out that is a good deal. I did that in the last month last year and decided to keep it.

NYY play TB, SF, and HOU, 3 games each. TB play 4 BAL, 3 NYY, and 3 TOR. BAL plays 4 TB, 3 TOR, 3 BOS. TEX plays 3 KC, 3 HOU, 4 LAA. CLE plays 3 HOU, 2 CWS, 4 MIN. KC has 3 TEX, 3 SEA, 4 CWS.

Yeah, KC could plow a lot of the ground for them with Texas this weekend, and NY can do it for themselves against TB. They're not in good shape at all, of course, but if they keep winning this week it's not that unrealistic for the Yankees to be right there in the last day or two.

I can give you almost 10 million reasons this choice was made.

New York hails from the #1 TV market, which has 7,384,340 TV homes.

San Francisco hails from the #6 TV market, which has 2,502,030 TV homes.

It looks like McCarver's replacement will be one of three people: John Smoltz, Tom Verducci or Harold Reynolds.

    Please not Harold Reynolds.

Of those three I think Smoltz is best option.

I believe the three choices have been narrowed to J. Fred Muggs, Reginald the Chimp, and Bananas Gorilla.

Smoltz is easily the best choice of the three. Reynolds is just awful. It be like FOX to go with him. Now they need to replace Buck. Just about anyone would be better than him.
