I remember Joe Mays making a start like this.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

It may not be the reason, but this definitely could be a result of giving Latos 6 days off.

Latos and Bailey are on the verge of being Aces. But both of them are still quite a ways off from being one.

They may both be Aces next year. Very real possibility.

Dusty is out to the mound.

I've been concerned about Latos, his Ks are down this month. I've speculated maybe something isn't right.

Still he's usually has come back stronger as games have gone on.

Hope Mat gets it going, i still think he will.

Per Marty, "the worst-case scenario is if the Pirates get into this game." Really, Marty? That's the worst-case scenario?

He also just called the Pirates the Mets.

Fat Cats! I guess they got the field mic in the cheap seats. I tell you, this clamor is unnerving me, and it's only in the 1st!

Maybe Latos should not have been allowed to throw 119 pitches last start

That 1-0 fastball is more like it.

To be fair, he may be watching that game

Mike Leake has been nails vs. the Pirates. I certainly hope he gets a start vs them in Cincy. Pirates O is similar to the Reds--good fastball hitters, struggle vs. the corkscrew stuff.

I typed it wrong. He said the worst-case scenario is if the Pirates FANS get into this game.
