Perhaps, since Latos has such trouble in the 1st inning, pitch Reynolds for an inning then bring in Latos.
The Rally Onion wants 150 fans before Opening Day.
With Cueto's good performance last night, it re-affirms my view that Latos should pitch Wednesday against the Mets. The Reds have enough good starting arms (five in fact) to get through the schedule well without using Reynolds.
Latos Wednesday, Bailey Friday, Arroyo Saturday.
Then you see. If Sunday is critical, use Cueto. If not potentially use him in the play-in game.
If you do use him Sunday, Latos is ready for Tuesday.
If you need pitchers for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday (tie scenario) Leake handles one game. Or Bailey on three days' rest.
If Cueto is healthy the Reds have a full compliment of starters, I see no reason to use Reynolds.
How, then, are those people of the future—who are taking steroids every day—going to look back on baseball players who used steroids? They're going to look back on them as pioneers. They're going to look back at it and say "So what?" - Bill James, Cooperstown and the 'Roids
