Told you. Guy allowed 8 hits to 12 batters and now we are engaged in debate whether he had it tonight.

    He didn't.

Let's go Reds, four runs is nothing for a championship team.

Is Duke part of what you're calling our capable pen? 'Cus I agree with your pen optimism generally but think Duke should have been relegated to Louisville after the last outing.

No big deal here. Leake lives on a fine edge. When he doesn't hit spots and keep the ball down he has a bad night. When he hits the corners and paints the lower parts of the zone he's tough. Night and day. He can't power his way out of a rough night. Good guy for a long season, not a guy I want starting a playoff game, though.

I don't think Leake ever had a chance in the world of being in the rotation unless someone got hurt.
Once Cueto proved himself healthy, that writing was on the wall. He'll still likely make the team as the long guy. Ondrusek won't.

Yeah you're right, getting a broken bat blooper against the Mets' best hitter, a weak groundball with one out and a nasty strikeout against D'Arnaud was evidence he was sucking.

I'd rather have Ondrusek, actually, especially since his splitter has been very good his last two appearances.

Whew! The thought of Duke coming out for the 2nd would have me really questioning things more than I normally do.

And, that's just the most recent example why Hannahan should almost never be started over Frazier at 3rd.

Yup, pretty linear progression. I said he kinda sucks when he gave up that double, but before that HR it had the making of a pretty typical Leake game. Give up early runs (which kinda sucks), everyone calls for his head, and then he pitches 5-6 innings of shutout ball. Unfortunately the HR put an end to that.
