I'm still laughing at CoachBombay's reply.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Newsflash!
Joey Votto does not care about RBI.

"old school"
Actually, I get where you're coming from, as a kid, growing up in a house that always had the DDN (and for a good time the USA today as well) delievered, I enjoy the idea of waking up, eating breakfast and flipping thru the paper. However, the reality of paying for the paper set in after graduation, something I wasn't real keen on at the time with other bills to be paid, not to mention it was all "free" on the web, there was no reason for me to fork over that cash when it could be used to fund my 401(k), IRA, car loans, rent/mortgage, etc... Then we had a kid, and now 2 and I can't imagine having the time to sit around in the morning and read the paper in the morning, and by the time I could do so in the evening, anything pertinent would be "old news". Its just a tough business to compete in these days when so much information is delivered to us in "real time"
I use igoogle, which will be disappearing soon, as my home page and get news, birthdays, and select comics (Calvin&Hobbes, Get Fuzzy) as well as this,http://artistaday.com/ which at its best is fantastic.
